Corsearch GC Diane Plaut Selected To Represent The IPC of ICANN

PlautCorsearch is proud to announce that our General Counsel and Privacy Officer, Diane Plaut, has been chosen to be one of the two individuals to represent the Intellectual Property Constituency (IPC) of ICANN to determine the future of WHOIS. On May 17, 2018, the ICANN Board adopted the Temporary Specification which provides for modifications to existing requirements in the Registrar Accreditation and Registry Agreements to help bring them into compliance with the GDPR. The Temporary Specification requires that a Consensus Policy development process be carried out within one year to answer certain charter questions and determine compliance with GDPR and relevant privacy and data protection laws. The Expedited Policy Development Process (EPDP) Team of 33 – represented by the major stakeholder groups – will be the group to answer the charter questions, determine the future of the Temporary Specification, its validity and future as ICANN Consensus Policy, and make recommendations to set the stage for a standardized access model. At Corsearch, we are at the forefront and CORE of issues and policy for our clients and the IP community.
